PUDEMO External Region REC Call for full Support and Participation at the Planned Protests

Following the planned protest action organised by the Swaziland Solidarity Network against the wasteful regime of king mswati III’s King’s Birthday/ Independence “40/40 Celebrations” and sham elections, the PUDEMO External Region REC calls upon all Swazi Comrades, Allies and Friends of the Swazi people to support these all important protest action by participating in both marches . The Swazi struggle is at a very crucial and decisive juncture and this is the time for all true compatriots of our country and Allies to put combine all our efforts and force the mswati royal regime to commit and open a process for democratic change in Swaziland.

Let the prevailing injustice in Zimbabwe and the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa remind us of the words of Martin Luther King Jr. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere…”

The marches are scheduled to take place as follows;

1. Protest 1: Against the King Birthday/ Independence Celebration
Date: 6 Sept. 2008
Venue: Swazi Embassy, cnr 715 Government Avenue and Blackwood Street, Arcadia, Pretoria
Time: 10am to 1pm

2. Protest 2: Against the sham elections
Date: 19 Sept 2008
